This article describes the problem of insufficient development of spatial imagination of many students, which causes difficulties in learning the graphic discipline. Decrease in the quality of graphic education of students leads to a deterioration in their ability to logical spatial thinking and, consequently, a decrease in the quality of learning special engineering disciplines.
The article also offers solutions to this problem. To improve the quality of education of bachelors of technical profile it is necessary, first of all, to pay more attention to teaching descriptive geometry. It is necessary not to simplify, but on the contrary, to complicate the course in order to develop students' simple thinking and ability to design. There is an urgent need to conduct Olympiads: intrauniversity, republican, with access to the international arena.
